Glowing Cities Under a Nighttime Sky

Just heard a great quote while listening to the "Somewhere Out There" episode of This American Life:
"No one ever asks 'how did you two stay together?' Everyone always asks 'how did you two meet?'"
The person who said that also talks about how the story of staying together is a private story, not meant for the public to hear. And while I agree that every couple's struggles to stay together when love matures beyond the falling stage is a very private and personal thing, I bet a lot of couples could stand to benefit from the wisdom of those couples that succeeded. Or are succeeding, I should say. I don't know if there's ever a time when a couple has "succeeded" and can stop trying.
Maybe that's part of the wisdom right there.
